Visual Communication Design Department of Yeditepe University, Faculty of Communication, has been training communication designers who are able to develop strong communication strategies, transform kowledge into creative design products by using technological design tools since 2001.

Within the framework of the Visual Communication Design Department curriculum, students learn animation design, game design, interaction design and video production, as well as all other branches of visual communication design.

Theoretical courses for the creation, design and planning phase of an idea, practice-based courses for the visualization and design stages including workshops and project courses where students can realize their productions within the framework of a concept provide them with experience in the field. Projects are carried out individually and in groups within the scope of the course and activities conducted in the department and outside the classroom, with professionals in the field. Thus, students are prepared to produce their creative design projects and achieve the vision of visual communication design. Students gain competence in the field and determine their own field of expertise by taking part in the activities held in the department agency “Atelier Root”, “Fall Meetings in Design”, “Spring Meetings in Design” seminars and workshops organized every semester, the “End of Year Student Exhibition” formed under different thematic topics.
