Faculty of Medicine
As a thematic university in the fields of Behavioral and Health Sciences, Uskudar University, which has made significant contributions to higher education, was officially established on 15 March 2018 with the aim of being premium and universal. In the Faculty of Medicine, future physicians are trained as both scientists and equipped with the necessary competencies for the practice of Medicine. Uskudar University has become prominent, especially in the field of health and has become one of the high education institutions, that train professionals in many fields of health professions in our country. The Faculty of Medicine has been planned and established at the highest level in terms of infrastructure and academic equipment.
Uskudar University Faculty of Medicine
In order to benefit from the application training of the Faculty of Medicine, the cooperation has been completed with the full-fledged, 100-bed NPiSTANBUL Brain Hospital as well as the full-fledged and 143-bed capacity Istanbul Ataşehir Memorial Hospital. Our faculty has a physical infrastructure that can meet all needs of 7 thousand square meters. Has got a rich library. In addition, there are application/research centers such as the Neuropsychopharmacology Application and Research Center (NPFUAM), Neuropsychiatry Health Practice and Research Center (NPSUAM), Experimental Research Unit (ÜSKÜDAB), Uskudar University Medical Radiation Application and Research Center (ÜSMERA), Personal Customized Treatment Application and Research Center (KIMER) and multidisciplinary laboratories. With these facilities, it has reached quality standards on a universal scale both in medical education and health services. As a result of the Student Selection Exam, our students who achieved high success and all were accepted to Uskudar University Medical Faculty with at least a half scholarship and one-third were accepted to Uskudar University Medical Faculty on a full scholarship; they graduate as a contemporary physician who is willing to research and publish, follow and implement innovations and can see ahead in all areas of medicine.
There are two programs in Faculty of Medicine, one in Turkish and the other in English. Hybrid Education Model (Integrated + Problem Based Learning Model) is applied in our medical education. This training consists of 3 stages: Pre-Clinical Education, Clinical Education and Internship Periods, in which Basic and Clinical Sciences are integrated.
Medical Faculty Courses
The courses that students will take in the Pre-Clinical Internship Period; Scientific Basics of Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Histology and Embryology, Medical Pharmacology, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Biophysics, Biostatistics, Medical Biology and Genetics, Pathology, Medical Education, Medical Ethics and Medical History, Public Health, Forensic Medicine, Medical Skills and First Aid, Positive Psychology, Communication Skills, Humanities in Medicine, Health Management, Health Sociology, Health Economics, Health Informatics and Clinic Preparation.
Clinical Internship Period; consists the courses of Internal Diseases, Gynecology and Obstetrics, General Surgery, Child Health and Diseases, Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Radiology, Cardiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases, Infectious Diseases, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Urology, Eye Diseases, Ear Nose Throat Diseases (ENT), Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Neurology, Brain and Nerve Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Emergency Medicine.
Among the rotations of the Internship Period are Emergency Medicine, Child Health and Diseases, Internal Diseases, General Surgery, Public Health, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Psychiatry, Neurology, Skin and Venereal Diseases.
Admission Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Transcripts from high school or any previously attended colleges.
- SAT or ACT scores (if available).
- Personal statement or essay (if available).
- Letters of recommendation (usually 1-3), (if available).
- English Qualification certificate or equivalent like TOEFl, IELTS …etc (if available).
- Passport.
- Biometric Photo.
