Molecular biology and genetics It is one of the main branches of science that investigates how biomolecules work and how genetic information is transferred by contributing to many fields such as researching the formation mechanisms of important diseases of our age, DNA analysis, gene mapping, genetic counseling, drug design, food technologies.
What are the qualifications required by the program?
Molecular biology and genetics Individuals who are interested in biology, who like to work in a laboratory environment, who are research-oriented and who follow up-to-date scientific studies will increase their success.
What opportunities does the program offer its students?
Atlas University Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics We aim for our students to become experts who have been trained with a high-tech laboratory infrastructure for molecular biology and genetics, which are increasingly needed in many fields such as developing medicine, agriculture and industry, who are self-confident in solving problems and innovating, and can work independently. It is aimed to reinforce the theoretical foundations gained during their education and gain experience with the participation of our students in the scientific researches carried out by our academicians in their fields. During their education, our students can perform their clinical applications by using the facilities of our University Hospital as well as the department laboratories and improve their practical experience.
In the first two years of their education, our students will be given basic sciences and cell biology courses. As of the third year, after completing the molecular genetics, biochemistry, physiology, molecular biology courses and application courses, they can take elective courses in areas of interest such as developmental biology, biotechnology, cancer, immunology in their fourth year. In addition, our students can take courses from different disciplines from our university’s elective course pool.
In which fields can graduates find the opportunity to work?
In which fields can graduates find the opportunity to work?
Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Our graduates, “Molecular Biologist and Geneticist” will receive the title. Our students who have completed their education can work as researchers in institutions such as universities and research centers, they can work in medical faculties such as diagnosis and treatment centers for genetic diseases, in the health sector, in areas that require biotechnology such as food and agriculture, and in many laboratories, including transgenic animal production.
