Pharmacy is a branch of science that examines both the production and distribution stages of drugs and how they will affect people’s bodies and carries out studies to contribute to the development of these drugs.

Pharmacy education in Turkey was given for 3 years in the first years and then increased to 4 years between 1938-2005. Today, the education period of the Department of Pharmacy is 5 years.

In the Department of Pharmacy, which has been one of the favorite departments of many students who will choose from the numerical field for years, students generally take chemistry and biology-based courses. The only thing that can be done for anyone studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy is thought to be pharmacy pharmacy, but the job field is not limited to opening a pharmacy shop as soon as you graduate. They can work in R&D centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical factories and work as academicians. They can also do clinical pharmacy by taking the Pharmacy Specialization Examination (EUS). Clinical pharmacy is a patient-oriented unit. Pharmacists keep a follow-up file for all their patients. This file contains the patient’s personal information, disease and medication history and treatment practices. It provides convenience for pharmacists in patient monitoring. Clinical pharmacy education was first given in our country at Marmara University under the name of Clinical Pharmacy Master’s Program.

Students studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy during their education: Basic information technology, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, history and terminology of pharmacy, basic pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy legislation, pharmacy and basic medical sciences, pharmaceutical raw materials, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, clinical biochemistry, medical first aid, pharmacology, pharmacy deontology and ethics, pharmacology practice; ethnobotany, food safety and analysis, clinical parasitology, vitamins and coenzymes, biochemistry basics of patients, polymer chemistry, free radicals and antioxidants.

The pharmacy department will not force you to study if you really love it; however, if you have to study only because your ranking is enough or for other reasons, you may experience a very challenging 5 years. In addition, it will be an advantage for you to love chemistry and biology and to have good human relations
